Transcipt: [adapted from Closed Captioning]

Sharon: When he's not tracking town people in the hit drama "Without A Trace" he is climbing walls like that! Got to be a bit nasty. Anyway, get out here Eric Close! Come on.

[Cheers and applause]

Eric Close: This is for you.

Sharon: English chocolate. Are you crazy? I adore it.

Eric Close: Is this stuff amazing?

Sharon: The best. The best.

Eric Close: Let's break it out.

Sharon: The best.
Oh, Eric.

Eric Close: How you doin'?

Sharon: Oh Eric, I'm so happy now.

Eric Close: I know.

Sharon: English chocolate is the best in the world! Eric, how do you know I like chocolate.

Eric Close: Oh, I heard. A little bird told me.

Sharon: You naughty boy. Oh, I love you so much.

Eric Close: Let's break some out.

Sharon: Come on.

Eric Close: You know, this is like giving heroin to a heroin addict and saying just guard this.

[Laughing]

Sharon: No. Once you start you cannot stop. Every day I say no more. Isn't it the best?

Eric Close: I'm going to kick back and pig out.

Sharon: No, hold on a minute. Now isn't this better than climbing that wall?

Eric Close: Is this Quentin's?

Sharon: Yes. It's good though. I'd drink it.

Eric Close: Quentin Tarantino drank out of this is cup?

Sharon: I know. I'd be licking that glass off. His lips touched it. Rub it all over. I wish some of that talent would rub off on me. Anyway.

Eric Close: I dig that name. Cobra Osbourne!

Sharon: You like that?

Eric Close: That is a cool name.

[Cheers and applause]

[Laughing]

Eric Close: Can I take that home? I might let my wife use that. How you doin'?

Sharon: I'm doing fine. I want you to tell me about "Without A Trace." Do you love doing the show?

Eric Close: I love it. You know, Sharon, when I first read the script, I always look at story first. It was an amazing story. And, it is just doing so great. You know, when I saw that Jerry Bruckheimer was part of the show I knew I had to be part of that. You never know. I've done shows that have done really well out of the gate and then they just disappear. So, this is a good one.

Sharon: But your character gets picked on a lot.

Eric Close: I take my shoes off and kick back like you?

[Applause]

Sharon: Yes. Come on, Eric.

Eric Close: Too dressy, you know.

Sharon: I know. Come on, let's get you cozied up here. Come on. Just relax. Legs up. Legs up. Come on.

Eric Close: I like that.

Sharon: Okay. But you were a rookie and people were pickin' on you. They're not doing that so much this time?

Eric Close: No, no, no... First season, the way the show is set up, the premise was Martin was the rookie. New guy of a team of people that have been working together for a while. So, I sort of had to pay my dues when I got in there. Martin, in his zealousness, goes in and makes some big mistakes and so then he gets put into the doghouse for a while. That was sort of the premise the last season. You kind of watch the show through Martin's eyes since he was the new guy. This season, he is in the graces of the team and they work really well together. He's gained their respect.

Sharon: This clip I chose because it is very interesting. I love this clip. Let's have a look.

Eric Close: All right.

Clip from the Without A Trace episode "Confidence" with James Remar, Poppy Montgomery and Eric Close by the pool.

[Cheers and applause]

Eric Close: James Remar

Sharon: Now, James should be arrested just because he wore those Speedos. I've never seen anything like that [laughing]

Eric Close: He was such a trooper. You know, it take as while to shoot a scene. So he was in and out of the pool, the blow driers were going.

Sharon: Those little tiny Speedos with his willie sticking out.

[Laughing]

Eric Close: There was actually a line where Samantha looks down and goes, 'you got a license for that?' but they cut it. It's too bad. She was really good in that scene.

Sharon: You must have so much fun doing scenes like that. I would crack up though.

Eric Close: It was hard to keep a straight face, you know.

Sharon: I know. With that little bum. So cute. All right. I want to know, if your time off, okay. I don't know about you, but you know what? After doing this, now when I talk to my friends, I talk to them like I'm bloody doing an interview. They are like, just be normal. Now do you take your character home with you?

Eric Close: Absolutely. When my friends call me, I'll say, where have you been? What time did you get there? Did your wife know you were there? Oh, wait, I'm sorry. Eric snap out of it.

Sharon: It is so difficult to just like get rid of that.

Eric Close: You know, like, I'll go to the shopping mall with my wife and kids. And, you know, it is scary. You take the kids. People around. I see these parents that have leashes on their kids with the big spikes and dog chains an all of that. I said, I will never -- no way in hell would I get one of those. We're at the mall the other day, it is time for the leashes for the kids. You look away like that quick and they are gone. Just gone. You know, it is scary. Extremely scary. Screaming, where are you?

Sharon: You go around in that panic? That initial panic is the worst feeling in the world. Then, there they are in the toy section.

Eric Close: Oh, yeah. Oh,Yeah.

Sharon: Pissing around. Hi! Yeah, I know. But apart from all of that, you have a lot of outdoor activities that you do.

Eric Close: Oh, yeah. I grew up in a family that loved to be in the outdoors. Skiing and water-skiing and all of that good stuff. I start to get into some kind of semi risky things like bungee jumping and things like that. Rock climbing. I started rock climbing. I see you have a wall there. Thank you for bringing that in for me. I appreciate it. Get a little work out. Are you going to give it a go?

Sharon: I'm think about it 'cause the only outdoor activity I do is go from shop to shop. I think maybe i might try something new. Okay? When we come back!

[Cheers and applause]

Sharon: I might be a little daredevil and try it!

Eric Close: All right.

Sharon: Yeah, yeah. I will.

[Cheers and applause]

Announcer: Up next, Sharon tries rock climbing with Eric Close!.

[Cheers and applause]

Eric Close: It is here. It's gone around and back through. This is not going anywhere. And then once I lock this down, called a locking beaner, locking caribeaner, it is not going to open. So your life is in my hands.

Sharon: It is very sexual, this whole thing, you know.

Eric Close: I know. Rock climbing has its privileges.

Sharon: All right. Come on. You got to go up there once and show me. Okay?

Eric Close: You want me to go up and do it?

Sharon: You go up once and then I'll do it.

Eric Close: All right. Can you hold this over. So I don't get tangled up in it and then get hung.

Sharon: Sure.

Eric Close: It'll be Kill Bill and then Kill Eric, so. All right. Now, you can grab on to anything that has black tape, red and black tape. Okay?

Sharon: Okay, go on.

Eric Close: So I'll do what you are going to do. All right! There you go.

Sharon: This is very exciting. Eric!

[Cheers and applause]

Sharon: Eric. That's good. But you're like Spiderman. Like little Spiderman going up there.

Eric Close: Let's get your English ass up this rock. You ready? You ready?

[Cheers and applause]

Sharon: Yes, [laughing] I like that.

Eric Close: Now, wait, let me get clipped in. Let's hear it... Okay, hear we go. Now, you're locked in. Let me pull up the tension. Ready?

Sharon: Oh, I like tension.

Eric Close: Let's hear it for Cobra Osbourne!

[Cheers and applause]

Eric Close: Now all you have to do is grab on and climb it. Use your legs and arms. Like you are on a ladder! You want to grab the big ones, okay? Okay, here we go.

Sharon: [scream]

Eric Close: Keep going.

Audience: [chanting] Sharon, sharon!

Eric Close: You got it. Keep going. Push with your legs. You ready? Push with your legs. You've got to push with your legs. There you go.

Sharon: Oh!

Eric Close: There you go. Push with your legs. Put your leg up higher. There you go! Yeah! You got it. [howl]

[Cheers and applause]

Eric Close: You got it. Go all of the way! Get your leg up. Get your leg up! Lift your leg up! Now step on... There you go!

[Cheers and applause]

Sharon: Yes! Oh, yes, I did it! We'll be right back. Don't go away! Oh! Eric, I love you. Thank you! You can watch Eric this Thursday, "Without a trace" Thursday at 10pm on CBS! Eric!
