(1993)
Summary (from the film box): The British are coming. And Nell Prescott is going after them. It's 1778 and the newly-born American colonies are locked in a battle for independence from the British, Ben Franklin has found a new American powerhouse: Nell Prescott, a woman whose bravado is matched only by her beauty. Nell's fight for freedom with her ragtag rebels is going to surprise the Redcoats like an ambush. Britain's Sir Leo and his well-armed troops should go home while they have the chance!
Cast: Sophie Ward, David Warner, Shannon Kenny, W. Morgan Shepard, Eric Close, Shirley Ann Field, Jason Carter and David Ogden Stiers (as Benjamin Franklin).
Eric Close Role: Adam (a member of The Eagle's ragtag rebels)
My comments: The tag line on the box reads "Nell Prescott is about to battle the Redcoats. Give her liberty. Or get out of the way." [groan] :) I think they padded this a bit to turn a potential series pilot into a movie for video release. There are a lot of shots of Nell riding her horse... and riding and riding and riding and riding and... you get the idea. Anyway, I love the idea of David Ogden Stiers as Benjamin Franklin but there was not nearly enough EC in this one. :)
Notable: Produced by Trilogy Entertainment, story by John Watson and Pen Densham who would go on to make "The Magnificent Seven" television series. Shannon Kenny, playing Sir Leo's lusty, nasty wife here, would later play Terry Greer in The Magnificent Seven episode called "Safecracker."
