BURBANK, CA (June 14, 2004) Warner Home Video (WHV) has found what has been missing from everyone’s DVD library, Without a Trace: The Complete First Season, the powerful, Emmy Award-winning investigative drama which will make its debut on DVD September 7th. WHV will release the much-anticipated title with several engaging special features including unaired scenes, the director’s uncut finale and much more.
Executive produced by prolific television and film producer Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI, CSI: Miami, Pearl Harbor) all 22 episodes of the series’ award-winning first season will be available in a four-disc collector’s edition for $59.98 (SRP).
Rated the # 2 new drama of the 2002-2003 season, Without a Trace won two Emmy Awards during its debut season and a Golden Globe Award in 2004. Gripping and fast-paced, the series focuses on the Missing Persons Squad of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. By applying advanced psychological profiling techniques, the special task force is able to peel back the layers of the victims’ lives and trace their whereabouts in order to determine if the missing person has been abducted, murdered, committed suicide or has simply run away. The team reconstructs a “Day of Disappearance” timeline that details every minute of the 24 hours prior to the disappearance, following one simple rule: learn who the victim is in order to learn where the victim is.
The show’s talented ensemble cast includes Anthony LaPaglia, who earned a Golden Globe Award for his role as senior agent Jack Malone. Malone heads the dedicated team that knows too well that every second counts when someone vanishes. His squad includes Samantha Spade (Poppy Montgomery), an agent whose good looks belie a tough, complex approach to her work; Vivian Johnson (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), a no-nonsense investigator; Danny Taylor (Enrique Murciano) an intense and private agent; and Martin Fitzgerald (Eric Close), the newest member of the team, considered a lightweight by the squad because his only experience involves fighting white-collar crime.
Regarding the announcement, Christine Martinez, WHV Vice President, Non-theatrical Franchise Marketing said, “Without a Trace is a high-caliber series, complimented by brilliant casting, outstanding acting, powerful and compelling storylines that are executed with skill and sensitivity. Furthermore, the program has garnered tremendous critical acclaim, high viewership levels and has developed a growing, loyal fan base, which is why we decided to bring the series to DVD.
Special features to be included on Without a Trace: The Complete First Season include:

Director’s Uncut Finale.
“The Motive” a featurette which includes the motive of making the show from concept to pilot as told by Jerry Bruckheimer, Hank Steinberg and other members of the cast.
